On the topic of personal branding, today I have stumbled upon an interesting website. Fontself.com is the website that turns your handwriting into a font. Having your own customized text makes your emails, posts, documents more personal and gives character. I had to post about it. Too bad my handwriting ain’t pretty.

I have been fascinated by Lady Gaga ever since first song ‘Just dance’ and wondered how she managed her brand. “Wish i could shut my playboy mouth” was in the lyrics of her song and that’s when it occurred to me that her appearances, choice of words, and wardrobe is not without purpose. Starting a new business

I have been reading this book called Rework written by Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hanssone, and it made a lot of things easier. In the past I only thought about starting businesses with partners but now there has been a change of thought. I don’t mind it when someone shares my vision comes along, but I do need to get out there and start approaching prospects telling them how awesome I am in my department. What I have learned from Rework is that there is nothing wrong if you provide ‘half a product’ probably there is a market for it that you haven’t found out yet. Is that a relief or what!?

Ever since I left my job in telecom marketing (it sounded sexier back then) I have been looking for something that would help utilize my business development skills. I have planned and helped start up 3 brands in the 2 weeks after leaving my job in Branding. Entrepreneurial spirit wasn’t big in my generation back when I was in college, we would look for a big name in the private sector and that’s about it. Yet I do notice younger generations have participated in start-up exhibitions on to car boot sales while growing up. So this is a new mindset that I have found myself growing in to. There were earlier attempts and feedback, and that’s what makes it a good time to start.

Hello readers! I have been missing in action for awhile due to work but that’s going to change. I am going to be more active in the upcoming weeks, promise. Why? Because I found my muse. In the past week i have been in the corporate world that my consultations were done over the phone and emails. I wanted to thank all my friends for their kind referrals and reminded me of my true purpose and what i am supposed to be doing. A friend of mine asked if I could contribute to his thesis and found out that I had a lot to share!

This book has been undersold by critiques because of the usage of British English.
I found it to be a must-read.
